Brenda L. Johnson

Brenda Johnson is a native of Denver, Colorado and current resides in Severn, Maryland.  She is currently an Information Technology Business Analysist at John Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU APL).  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Shaw University and a Master’s of Science in Higher Education Enrollment Management from Capella University.  During her free time, Brenda enjoys helping students with their college applications, serving her community and her sorority.

During her 12 year career in Higher Education Brenda worked in the Admission and Recruitment Offices at a variety of institutions such as Shaw University, Florida A&M University and The University of Miami.  She was able to incorporate her passion for helping students by advising student organizations and honor societies as well as lead institutional full-tuition scholarship programs.   The pride and commitment she has for serving underrepresented minorities has spanned a lifelong career that she continues now in her personal life.

During her free time Brenda serves as the Program Chairman for the College Admission Program (#CAPs) for her sororities graduate chapter.  She also serves on the board for the Lenora Paschal Johnson Foundation and is on the scholarship committee for the JHU APL African American Culture Club and the Black Faculty and Staff Associations STEM Scholarship.  Brenda serves as Technology Chair and Technology Team member for serval social organizations. Being grounded in her faith has allowed her to have a strong balance of family, work, and community.  She continues to strive for excellence and loves to help others.
